Would like to extend an invitation to you!
Dear Homeowner:
The North Beach House and Garden Club will celebrate its 25th Anniversary Tour this year, 2010. The first Sunday in June is the Annual House and Garden Tour. Our Tour is scheduled from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. and includes many houses, public buildings, refreshment stops, and an art show with local artists. Our tour this year is June 6th.
Formed in 1985, by Dale Thomas and Jean Hatch, for the purposes of organizing the North Beach House and Garden Tour. The Tour, our major achievement each year, was conceived with two goals in mind: To share the architecture, garden designs and lifestyles of North Beachers with each other and with visitors and to promote tourism and economic recovery in North Beach.
We generally host up to 400 people each year, showing over 10 homes throughout the Town of North Beach and local areas. Our guests enjoy their annual visits from as far away as Alexandria, Virginia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
We are very excited about this tour because it is our 25th Anniversary Tour and we are extending this invitation to many homeowners that may not have heard about our organization or about how to participate.
If you are interested in hosting your home and want to become a part of our grand event please contact Jane Hagen at: 301-812-0044 or 301-922-4040 or at janehagen@verizon.net .
If you are unable to participate in showing your home please consider joining us on the tour. June 6th, from 1:00 to 5:00, tour brochures, $10.00, will be available at St. Anthony’s Parking Lot or will be available for sale in early May at Nice & Fleezy Antiques, Richard’s Bayside Florist, Sister’s Corner, and Coffee, Tea and Whimsey.
Thank you for your consideration and please plan to join us!

- In the spring, Garden Club Members, Boy Scouts, Boys and Girls Club members and volunteers from the local community all participate in "Plant the Town," planting all the flower boxes along Bay Avenue! This ia an all-day affair with lunch furnished for all participants.

|
- The first Saturday in December, the Club sponsors “Christmas on the Beach.” Children get to sit on Santa’s lap, give him their wish lists and receive small presents and candy in return. Also, there are marshmallows to roast on the bonfire and hot chocolate to warm the insides on the cold winter’s day.
|
|
- Also in December, the Club sponsors “Holiday Highlights,” a contest for the best decorated houses and businesses. Prizes and free memberships in the club are awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and honorable mention winners in each category.

- The House and Garden Club presented the beautiful planter at the 5th Street and Greenwood Avenue welcome sign to the Town in 2004. The Club maintains the planter with fresh Spring and Fall arrangements every year.

- The House and Garden Club meets the second Tuesday of every month. Members take turns hosting.
- In 2009, the House and Garden Club donated recycle bins for placement on the boardwalk.
- Some of our members have left us, but there are benches on our boardwalk that honor them. Please fee free to sit a spell and enjoy all the beauty that surrounds you.
- Have a great day and 2010!
